I am so sorry to hear about your Koda. That must be devastating to not have closure. I am not going to lie, I love my new dog but she will never be what Lucky was to me, she’s an amazing dog but some doggies just leave a void.

As far as knowing when it’s right, I got a new dog two weeks after losing lucky. It was the right call for us, but my parent lost their dog three years ago and still haven’t gotten a new dog. It’s such a personal choice but if you have doubts, I would wait until what feels like the right time for you.
