This is how you can become the writer you want to be without selling your soul

Lately, I’ve been taking a break from Medium to finish writing my book and try ghostwriting. This has given me some time to think about the habits of other writers on here, particularly new writers.

This is not a hit-and-run on all new writers. If the shoe fits (ie: It pisses you off), I guess it’s about you.

There are many new writers who are very talented and I really enjoy them personally and love reading their writing. This is because they are awesome people, who are humble and actually care about our craft.

To them, our craft is not just another way to move up the ladder of life: It’s not a get-rich-quick-scheme.

The craft of writing is their life.

I have been writing on my own for a while and I’ve been on Medium since 2019. I still consider myself a newer writer with a lot to learn about this platform.

There are many secret inner operations on this platform. You never know what the curators will like, what the Medium publications will accept, or who the next new “star” on the platform will be.

Honestly, most of us who have been on here for a while gave up fairly quickly on finding that information…
